How the return is worked out

Each line is settled on its own: the line stake times the decimal odds of every selection in it, multiplied together. A losing selection makes every line it is in return nothing. A void selection counts as odds of 1.0. For each way bets the place part uses place odds: (decimal odds − 1) × place fraction + 1.

line return = stake × odds₁ × odds₂ × … and total return = sum of all line returns

Worked example

£1 a line: A at 2/1 (won), B at 5/2 (won), C at 3/1 (won), D at 7/4 (lost), E at 4/1 (lost). Total stake £26.00.
